Steve Morgan

Board member / Treasurer
Became a trustee in: 2019

I am a Chartered Accountant with 35 years’ experience of the public and private healthcare / blood sectors in the UK and Europe, and the voluntary sector.

I graduated from the University of Exeter in 1978, and then qualified with Ernst Young in Bristol before working for Compass Healthcare and NHS Blood and Transplant. I became Director of International Services for NHSBT in 2004, also acting as Treasurer of the British Blood Transfusion Society and the International Society of Blood Transfusion.

I now hold Treasurer positions with “Read for Good”, a national charity that promotes children reading in schools and in hospitals, and with “Ride On”, a cycling charity based in Exeter Quay and also Treasurer of Lympstone Village Hall CIO. I am a keen runner, cyclist and birdwatcher.

“I am joining the Board of Citizens Advice Exeter in order to help maintain the long-term financial viability of this wonderful charity, and to ensure that sufficient resources are available to achieve its objectives. I am particularly interested in the research and campaigns side of the charity, and the opportunities to improve the UK’s benefits system to help the more vulnerable in our society.”
