A Chartered Accountant with 35 years’ experience of the public and private healthcare / blood sectors in the UK and Europe, and the voluntary sector.

Steve graduated from the University of Exeter in 1978, and then qualified with Ernst Young in Bristol before working for Compass Healthcare and NHS Blood and Transplant. He became Director of International Services for NHSBT in 2004, also acting as Treasurer of the British Blood Transfusion Society and the International Society of Blood Transfusion.

Steve now holds Treasurer positions with “Read for Good”, a national charity that promotes children reading in schools and in hospitals, and with “Ride On”, a cycling charity based in Exeter Quay. He is a keen runner, cyclist and birdwatcher.

 “I am joining the Board of Citizens Advice Exeter in order to help maintain the long-term financial viability of this wonderful charity, and to ensure that sufficient resources are available to achieve its objectives. I am particularly interested in the research and campaigns side of the charity, and the opportunities to improve the UK’s benefits system to help the more vulnerable in our society.”
