I represent Priory & St Leonard’s in Exeter on Devon County Council.  Prior to my election in May 2013 I was a self-employed gardener for just over four years after leaving my post as Professor of Education at Plymouth University after 33 years as an academic.

I come from Dagenham and am a very keen West Ham fan.  I am a great believer in social equality and human rights, and have long been involved in political activity with the intention of promoting  these.
