Support our Fundraising Campaign!
Although our name is widely recognised, many people don’t realise that Citizens Advice Exeter is an independent local charity. We must raise our own funds to keep our essential services running. We provide free, independent, confidential and impartial advice, helping Exeter residents find a way forward when they need it most. Your support helps train, support and supervise our dedicated volunteers, who provide quality advice and information by phone and face to face.

Scams Awareness Events Winter 2025:
Between September and November 2025, the Campaigns and Promotions team at Citizens Advice Exeter were out and about on the High Street in Exeter, as well as in banks and supermarkets, raising awareness of scams and offering practical guidance on how to avoid them. If you're on a low income and something's pushed your finances into crisis - like losing income suddenly or an essential cost you can't cover - support may be available through the Crisis and Resilience Fund.
Citizens Advice Devon could provide financial support to help feed your household and pay your utility bills.

If you're eligible, the Fund could also offer extended, dedicated support to help you get back on track with:

Child Poverty in Exeter
Our October 2025 report shine
s a light on the reality of child poverty in Exeter and challenges the assumption that poverty only affects Britain's largest cities or most deprived areas. Poverty is not the result of poor choices or personal failings. It is driven by systemic barriers, rising costs, and policy decisions that leave families without the support they need.
Our findings are based on the real experiences of Exeter families who have sought help from Citizens Advice Exeter. Behind the statistics in this report are children who go without essentials, parents who skip meals so their children can eat, young people who miss out on education and social experiences, and families trapped in cycles of debt and anxiety.
The government has committed to developing an ambitious Child Poverty Strategy. We want to ensure that this strategy includes practical solutions based on lived experience and frontline insight that would make a real difference to Exeter families.
